Had in depth involvement in all aspects of management for the project group (value ~£14m). I ascertained the importance of profit, understanding risk and safeguarding the interests of stakeholders.


  • Preparation of Quotations, Request for Quotations (RFQ’s)

  • Internal trading of man hrs across business areas to facilitate in overhead recovery.

  • Scope and program definition.

  • Involved in Contract negotiations.

  • Financial Reporting, in terms of Profit / Loss, Overhead Recovery, Forecast Costs to Completion, Recovery Actions / Mitigation.

  • Business Development and capture.

  • Involved in Strategy and capability studies.

  • Failure investigations, design, testing and upgrading of new and existing composite products and processes (main processes - autoclaving, filament winding, compression moulding and hand wet lay-up).

  • Research, adaptation and implementation of new software, materials, processes, and testing techniques (both destructive and non-destructive).

  • Creation of BOM’s (bill of materials) and production routings

  • Running of R & D projects, production and volume manufacturing lines.

  • Projects were both in the Defence and Civil markets
